Self-Assessment and Personal Risk Factors

Some people with developmental disabilities also have a mental health condition.  This may cause them to become very sad or upset.  They may also have behavioral problems. They may get very, very upset and act out their feelings. They may hurt themselves, other people, or damage property.  They may need to go to the hospital.

There are things you can do if you think you are starting to get upset. These things may prevent you from having to go to the hospital.

You can use this tool to think about how you act when you are upset, worried, overwhelmed, or stressed out. You can also use this tool to make a plan for what to do when this happens.
